Some things seem determined to make you feel old. For those of us that grew up in the 90’s, The Verve’s Urban Hymns unavoidably dominated the sound of the end of the decade. Friday 29th September marks the 20th Anniversary of the record, and The Soundhouse have got something special planned.

As a celebration of the record, a live band of Leicester musicians will unite to play a full set from The Verve’s back catalogue, focussing on the album in question. The band features an all-star cast of members from Dedbeats, The Jav’lins, fullfathom5, Gallows High & Jake Manning.

Urban Hymns was the third album by The Verve, featuring the omnipresent hit singles Bitter Sweet Symphony, Lucky Man & The Drugs Don’t Work. Unanimously praised by critics and music lovers upon its release, it went on to sell over ten million copies worldwide.

The event takes place on the 29th September at The Soundhouse. Get Tickets here.
