A new festival is in the process of development, set to take over the Cultural Quarter from 26th-28th May 2017, with the team behind it on the search for artists to perform at the festival.
TDM Festival is the creation of Hannah McNally, a graduate from De Montfort University’s Arts and Festival Management course, who is bringing the project to life thanks to her colleagues at Horus Music.
TDM Festival is a name with a story behind it. Whilst at De Montfort University, Hannah, along with fellow students, put together a world music event in Leicester called Tour De Music. The name gives a nod to what inspired her to take it on after graduating, as well as standing for the fact that it will include Truly Diverse Music over Three Days in May.
TDM will kick off on Friday 26th at The Athena, followed by events at Manhattan34, The Exchange and LCB Depot over the Saturday and Sunday. It will also include a late night world music DJ event at Midas Cafe Bar and then round the weekend off at the Peepul Centre for an India Focus event to commemorate India’s 70th year of independence.
Artists are being encouraged to apply to play at the festival, with Hannah and Horus Music keen to showcase talent from around the world as well as an array of homegrown talent that resides in Leicester. With TDM aiming to feature a variety of genres, just about any style will be considered.
Apply with your artist name, a brief bio about your music and past/future gigs, links to your music online and links to your social media pages and/or website. Send all of this to email@example.com before February 1st in order to be considered.
