The line up for each day of Simon Says… 2017, at De Montfort Hall and Gardens, has now been confirmed and a limited number of day tickets will be released for sale at 10am on Friday 30 June.
Saturday 29 July will see 34 bands across the 4 Simon Says… stages with Leicester’s own Aztec Temples opening the indoor stage, Simon Says… regulars King Brasstards on the outdoor stage, Anoa opening the marquee and Brandon Neal in the bandstand.
The day will build to the headline performances with classic, socially-aware, pop from Jim Bob on the indoor stage and northern soul magic from Smoove & Turrell on the outdoor stage. Electronic funkers Uncle Frank will play out the marquee stage and for country blues from Hymn for Her, head to the bandstand.
The 32 bands on Sunday 30 July will include The Tin Pigeons, GU-RU, Dexeter, Quadrophenia Live Club Night and The Ruby Doos. Sunday evening will see bass legend Jah Wobble on the indoor stage, The Della Grants in the marquee, The Downtown Drifters owning the bandstand and Let’s Play… 2016 bringing some much-needed nostalgia for musicians the world lost last year, to the outdoor stage.
There is plenty to keep the children entertained including tub-uke construction at the junk instrument workshop, sing-along matinee fun with all their favourite film tunes and child-friendly musical comedy from Jay Foreman. For weekend sustenance the fabulous Simon Says… 2017 range of bars and food will be there throughout the weekend with real ales, cocktails, smokey pulled pork, traditional fish and chips, pancakes and of course cake.
A limited release of day tickets for Simon Says… will go on sale from 10am on Friday 30 June at the advance purchase price of £30 for adults. Great value weekend tickets are £40 adults, £30 students, £5 under-16s and under 10s are free.
