Leicester Haymarket Theatre, newly reopened after a £3.6m refurbishment, is proud to announce the award-winning smash-hit musical “ROCK OF AGES” will be coming to its iconic Leicester stage in 2019, opening on June 11th and running till the 15th.
Adam Durnin, Theatre Manager at the Haymarket said: “We are so incredibly proud to announce the first major touring musical back to our iconic stage, in conjunction with AP Enterprises and Collective Productions. This is the first of a number of announcements for next year and along with our production of Treasure Island, adapted by Sandi Toksvig, this Christmas, it demonstrates our resolve to take the Haymarket firmly centre stage again and bring great shows to the people of Leicester and the wider East Midlands!”
“ROCK OF AGES” is an LA love story lavished with over 25 classic rock anthems. Lose yourself in a city and a time where the dreams are as big as the hair and yes, they can come true! This hilarious musical comedy features the songs, including We Built This City, The Final Countdown, Here I Go Again, Can’t Fight this Feeling and I Want To Know What Love Is, played loud and proud by an awesome live band.Now a global smash with extensive runs in London’s West End, on Broadway and in Las Vegas, the show has also been made in to a star-studded Hollywood movie.
