This four-track introduction to ease shows promise in spades. A subtly regressive take on first-generation US emo bands like Sunnyday Real Estate and Far, they’re a band who don’t necessarily fit in to any of Leicester’s neat scene pigeonholes in 2017, but that makes them all the more interesting. The production and performance here is a little shaky, which mostly suits their material, but it is occasionally distracting. What’s important here, though, is that the songs and ambition shine through. They’re taking a fresh look a genre which is in resurgence and making it their own.
