Billed as a “celebration of the great British pun in all it’s whit and whimsy” the UK Pun Championship is now a staple, and regular sell-out event at Leicester Comedy Festival.

The premise is simple – Eight comics compete over four rounds to be crowned Pun Champion of the UK. If you’re a fan of Milton Jones, Tim Vine and the like, this is for you, but it’s more than that, and as much a part of the festival as any big-name comedian’s seat filling show. This years edition is hosted by Jason Byrne and previous winners have included Lovdev Barparga, Masai Graham, Leo Kearse and Darren Walsh.

The UK Pun Championships takes place at De Montfort Hall on ‘Punday’ the 12th February.
