It seemed like everyone was at the Royal Blood show at the Musician back in February of ’14 – but whether or not you made it to that (now legendary) event, you should be at this one… But we’re not talking about Royal Blood here, it’s the support on that sweatiest of evenings, Tigercub.

Coming over as a grungy, dirgefull, somewhat grubby sounding band that night, I’m pleased to see they’ve matured very little in the interim, whilst putting together a whole album of fantastic songs.

The show is in support of said debut album, Abstract Figures In The Dark, released on Alcopop! in November. It’s an album on which frontman Jamie Hall claims to ‘unleash a 1000 anxieties that he’s too scared to talk about’, and it is immense. From opening track Burning Effigies, through lead single Omen, to the closing notes of Black Tides it’s a smouldering debut who’s pace ebbs an flows.

OK, the shows on a Monday, but start the week with a bang and get down to the Cookie for what could be the last chance to catch this band in such intimate surroundings.
