Canadian folk bluegrass ensemble The Dead South have become something of a YouTube sensation. Their 2016 single In Hell I’ll Be In Good Company has received over 43 million views to date and rocketed the Saskatchewan musicians into online stardom. Describing themselves as “Mumford and Sons’ evil twins”, the folk outfit combine luscious harmonies with plucking cello and trickling banjo to create an accessible bluegrass sound that maintains the right level of grit. April sees the band hit the UK for the first time for a 13-date tour that includes Leicester. As their initial gig sold out within a matter of days, a second matinee show has been added.
The Dead South play The Soundhouse on 21st April.
