Idlewild frontman Roddy Woomble brings his solo show to The Musician on Clyde Street on Friday 13th September. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of his debut solo album My Secret Is My Silence, the Ayrshire-born singer will embark on a tour across the UK, playing the album in its entirety.

Woomble is also an avid writer and poet, who has contributed to several Scottish publications. He formed Idlewild in 1995, releasing seven albums, including 13 UK Top 40 singles and opened up for the likes of Pixies, U2 and R.E.M. In 2002, they had a Top 10 hit with You Held The World In Your Arms.

His solo work differs from Idlewild’s jangly indie sound as he explores his folkier side. The shows will include two sets: his debut album plus assorted solo material.

Roddy performs at The Musician on Tuesday 13th September.

Dylan Whatley is the creator of Slap Me On The Patio. He went to his first gig when he was 8 months old, though nowadays he no longer falls asleep in his pushchair when the headline act is on.
