Mica Paris will pay tribute to the late and great Ella Fitzgerald, one of her musical heroines, in a special show.
One of the UK’s most applauded female singers, Mica has scored many top 10 hit singles and albums worldwide. Mica exploded onto the music scene in 1988, with her debut album ‘So Good’ and its stand out track ‘My One Temptation.’ This platinum offering was followed by the album ‘Black Angel,’ and singles ‘Stay’ and ‘Carefree’. Mica collaborated with the likes of David Gilmour, Prince and Jools Holland, before starring in West End stage productions such as ‘Mama I Want to Sing’, ‘The Vagina Monologues’ and ‘Sweet Lorraine.’ More recently, she has starred in stage shows including ‘Love Me Tender’ and ‘Chicago.’
Mica has been a special guest of major artists including Michael Bolton and Dionne Warwick, and has performed in solo concerts across the world. She has also been honoured by the Duke of Edinburgh, and presented popular programmes on BBC1 and ITV.
‘First Lady of Song’ Ella Fitzgerald was an iconic jazz singer who earned 13 Grammy Awards and had album sales of 40 million worldwide, in her lifetime. She collaborated with Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and many other musical greats. Her back catalogue includes classic and acclaimed interpretations of tracks such as ‘Dream a Little Dream of Me,’ ‘Cry Me a River,’ ‘Cheek to Cheek’ and ‘I Get a Kick Out Of You.’
