With government cuts and unrealistic targets relentlessly barraging the UK’s education system, Jess Green’s play (adapted from a previous spoken word show by Green) Burning Books hones in on how this affects one school, it’s staff and it’s students. With books going missing, teachers disappearing and an absent head teacher, we see a collection of characters deal with the unreasonable decisions being made out of their hands. Green’s play focuses on the teachers who take action.

Burning Books will be performed at the Attenborough Arts Centre on the 6th October.
