Leicester Writers’ Club hold their Summer Open Evenings on Thursday’s this July and August. Guests can get a taster of how the Club works, meet current members and decide whether the Club is right for them.
Emma Lee, President of Leicester Writers’ Club, says, “This is a great opportunity to meet other writers to discuss markets, writing tips and news plus get constructive and professional feedback on your work-in-progress from experienced, published writers.”
Leicester Writers’ Club members write poetry, novels, short stories, children’s fiction, non-fiction, blogs and screenplays. Some members also teach creative writing on courses run by universities, for The Writing School and for literature festivals. The Club’s main purpose is to provide a supportive environment for members to critique works-in-progress and to network for information on markets and opportunities. The Club also offers advanced masterclasses, a writing retreat, social and speaker events – usually talks from agents, editors or publishers.
The Open Evenings run from 6 July to 31 August 2017 from 7 – 9pm at Phoenix Square, 4 Midland Street, Leicester LE1 1TG and cost £3 per session.
