Tonight, 2nd September, a brand new monthly comedy night comes to Upstairs At The Western. Featuring a selection of the finest acts around, from brand new acts testing their comedic skills to more established acts trying their hand at some new jokes, with a professional headliner to boot.

Hosted by the enigmatic comedian and producer Daniel Nicholas, headliners this month include George, one of the most exciting, hotly-tipped and sought after new acts on the UK comedy circuit. Having excelled in a host of new act competitions in his first year, George made his Edinburgh debut in 2015 when he performed as part of the prestigious AAA Stand Up Late showcase at the Pleasance Courtyard for a full sell-out run.

George will also be joined by local favourite Lucy Thompson, recent nominee for Best Show in Leicester Comedy Festival. Lucy’s set is a laughter-packed routine including a mixture of clever observations and stories, covering everything from everyday life to her journey as a gay woman.

Nicholas himself is excited for the new night. “Upstairs at the Western is a wonderful intimate venue in the heart of Leicester’s West End. I’m especially excited to be hosting this, as the venue has always been close to my heart, and where I started out making shows.”

Jestin’ at the Western opens tonight and continues on the first Saturday of every month until the new year. Tickets can either be bought online or on the door.
