Having placed ahead of Saili Katebe, Jasmine Gardosi, Louise Fazackerley, Casey Bailey and Nafeesa Hamid at this year’s final, Jess Green has been crowned BBC Poetry Slam Champion 2018.

The competition, held at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival sees 24 poets compete in heats to make it to the final where a panel of judges determines the overall champion. Last years winner was Ben Norris.

Jess Green is at the festival with her show A Self Help Guide to Being in Love with Jeremy Corbyn.
