This week Journeys Festival International kicked off in a big way. The festival celebrates the artistic talents and incredible stories of exceptional refugee and asylum seeker artists – and it continues right through this weekend with music, art and more in The Cultural Quarter.

We sent our photographer down to the Journey’s Festival Salon, which shared the inspiration behind the festivals work with contributions from their European partners. The evening included live art and breakout workshops led by artists and speakers from the fields of visual arts, performance and fact-based research who work with refugee and asylum seeker communities across Europe.
