In Another Place launched across the East Midlands this spring, putting ten billboards showcasing ten pieces of artwork to new audiences. The billboards have now gone up across the region, and you can check out their surprising locations in our gallery below.

“Our ten billboards went live last week and we’ve already seen an incredible reaction- from people just walking by and looking up, to others who stop and ponder, or who take photographs. Having this type of interaction is what we have always hoped to achieve with our ‘In Another Place’ project. Our intention was to bring extraordinary art to ordinary places- industrial estates, fruit markets, car parks and residential areas- it means that people who wouldn’t necessarily visit an art gallery get the opportunity to experience innovative visual art on their doorstep.” –¬†Elizabeth Hawley- Lingham- Director of Contemporary Visual Arts Network, East Midlands.

In Another Place runs from the 21st May for ten weeks.

Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Great Central, John has been actively involved in Leicester's creative community for over a decade - promoting shows and releasing records under the name Robot Needs Home. He is a director of Handmade Festival, and ex member of the band Maybeshewill.
