Handmade Festival announced yesterday that it is to become a city-wide event on one day for it’s 2019 iteration. The event will showcase 60 plus acts over 10 venues, all of which are still to be announced.
The festival has grown over six years from occupying a handful of Leicester’s independent venues to filling the O2 Academy’s many rooms with headline sets from We Are Scientists, Circa Waves, Drenge, Slaves, Twin Atlantic, Frightened Rabbit and more. 2019 will see them make use of the O2 Academy and return to the city centre’s independent venues.
The organisers have assured early bird ticket holders that there will be as much if not more choice of acts over the course of the day, and any early bird ticket holders not wishing to attend the new format can request refunds.
The announcement was followed by a stunning retrospective video from the 2018 festival held at the city’s O2 Academy and University of Leicester Students Union.
Tickets for Handmade are available now priced £35.
