The DH (Deaf & Hearing) Ensemble bring their show People of the Eye to Leicester this November.

The ensemble are a mix of hearing, hard of hearing and D/deaf artists, and make their work with all audiences in mind – as a result they’ve been creative with their approach to accessibility, going beyond just using a BSL interpreter for their show to working with sound designers and visual artists to create something multi-sensory, so that the different audiences can appreciate the show on their own terms.

The show’s creator Erin Hutching based a lot of the story on her own experience growing up with a deaf sister.

People of the Eye comes to Attenborough Arts Centre on November 18.

Chris is a Sparrow.
