Leicester’s Criterion Pub will reopen on Friday, having closed to the public for a short time. A notice had been posted in the pubs window and online on the 9th November stating that the pub was for sale due to the owners ill health. It is now clear that a new owner has been found.

The notice stated that they were looking for “like-minded individuals, partnerships or community cooperatives” to continue the tradition that criterion had established over the last 15 years.

The venue hosts several of the city’s regular comedy nights, as well as a huge host of events during the comedy festival.
